Die Linke (Lang- und Kurzbezeichnung: DIE LINKE) ist eine politische Partei in Deutschland, die am 16. Juni 2007 durch Verschmelzung von WASG und Linkspartei.PDS entstand. Sie leitet ihren Namen aus dem Anspruch einer linken politischen Orientierung her und zielt auf die Überwindung des Kapitalismus hin zu einem „demokratischen Sozialismus“.
In den neuen Bundesländern erlangte die Partei bislang ihre höchsten Wahlergebnisse, hat dort je nach Region den Charakter einer Volkspartei. In Brandenburg ist sie als Juniorpartner in einer rot-roten Koalition an der Landesregierung beteiligt. Wiederholte Einzüge in westdeutsche Landesparlamente konnte sie in den Stadtstaaten Hamburg und Bremen, sowie im Saarland und Hessen erreichen. In den anderen westdeutschen Flächenländern dagegen fiel sie seit Beginn der 2010er Jahre bei Landtagswahlen auf Stimmenanteile um 2 bis 3 Prozent zurück. Im 2013 neu gewählten Deutschen Bundestag stellt sie die drittstärkste der vier Fraktionen mit 64 von 630 Sitzen. Už jste hlasovali pro nebo proti DIE LINKE. ? The Left (German: Die Linke), also commonly referred to as the Left Party (German: Linkspartei), is a political party in Germany which describes itself as democratic socialist in orientation. The party was founded in 2007 as the merger of the post-communist Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS), successor to the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) that ruled East Germany until 1989, and the Electoral Alternative for Labour and Social Justice (WASG), a left-wing breakaway from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).
The party is the most left-wing party of the four represented in the Bundestag, and has been labelled far-left by German government authorities and different international media. It is partly under observation by federal and some states' Verfassungsschutz authorities on account of suspected extremist tendencies, including one third of its members of parliament. Its co-chairs are Katja Kipping and Bernd Riexinger. In the Bundestag the party has 64 out of 630 seats after polling 8.6% of the vote in the 2013 federal elections.
